As the Social Sciences Research and Data Coordinator at Trinity College in Hartford, I work with faculty to incorporate exercises involving quantitative and qualitative data in their classes and in doing so, improve the research and analysis skills of Trinity's students.
My work with a large variety of data sets and with the students who often struggle to analyze them has made me particularly curious about how colleges and universities use the data they collect about themselves to make policy decisions. Most recently, I have been working with the Dean of Faculty's Office and our Office of Institutional Research to develop mechanisms for evaluating students' experiences at Trinity and assessing their learning outcomes. I also teach a first-year seminar in decision making and a graduate class in research methods for public policy students.
